Description: A motorist's vehicle struck another car at a traffic signal. Officer Ward shouted for the motorist to "pull over" but the driver continued on. After a short distance of pursuit, the vehicle pulled over. As Officer Ward and State Patrol Officer Wilson approached the vehicle, the driver opened fire. Officer Ward died instantly. Officer Wilson was wounded in this incident.
