Description: Deputy Sheriff Werner was feloniously killed during a routine traffic stop. Deputy Werner stopped a speeding motorist and as he approached the vehicle, the suspect shot Deputy Werner twice. Deputy Werner died at the scene. The suspect was convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison.
