Description: Deputy Williams was shot by two inmates during a jail escape. The inmates were pursued by a posse. Nine days later while still on the run, the escapees shot posse member, Charles Hill in an exchange of gunfire. Deputy Williams' assailant was also killed in the shootout. The second inmate escaped.
