Description: Police Officers Wolff and Edward VanZandt were shot when they responded to a call regarding a stolen Oldsmobile sedan. When the officers attempted to question the two suspects, a gunfight ensued. Officer Wolff was shot three times, once in the chest and twice in the leg. Officer VanZandt received a minor wound and wounded one of the suspects. Officer Wolff died the following day due to his injuries despite three blood transfusions. Two suspects were arrested.
