Description: Lieutenant Weaver was shot and killed while transporting a juvenile prisoner to the Crater Juvenile Detention Center. The juvenile prisoner jumped from the back seat of the patrol car into the front seat, struck Lieutenant Weaver in the head and gained possession of his service weapon. Lieutenant Weaver was shot fatally in the abdomen with his own gun. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
