Description: Sheriff Webb was shot when he arrested a suspect wanted for horse theft. The suspect asked Sheriff Webb if he could get a drink of water from the wagon and Sheriff Webb granted the request. The suspect went to the wagon and retrieved a concealed Winchester rifle and shot Sheriff Webb in the neck. Sheriff Webb died at the scene.
