Description: Chief White was shot and killed with his own service weapon during a traffic stop. Chief White made a traffic stop of a suspect driving a Ford Explorer. The suspect had filled his gas tank and drove away without paying. Two witnesses called 911 and reported that they had witnessed the suspect shooting Chief White in the head and going through his pockets. Chief White had recently asked the town council to consider buying bulletproof vests for his three-person department, but his request was denied.
