Description: Deputy Sheriffs Ward and Bobby Nolen were shot without provocation while providing assistance to a motorist whose car was stuck. The deputies were giving the motorist a ride when the man pulled a gun and fatally shot both Deputy Ward and Deputy Nolen. The suspect was arrested and charged with murder but was ruled mentally incompetent to stand trial.
