Description: Sheriff Webb was killed in the Carroll County courtroom by a prisoner who had just been sentenced to a year in prison. The prisoner pulled a gun after the verdict was read and began shooting. Sheriff Webb was able to return fire and wound the prisoner. In all, five people were killed and nine were wounded. The prisoner and an accomplice were convicted of murder and received the death sentence by electrocution.
