Description: Deputy Whitfield was shot and killed while he and two other deputies were attempting to break up a fight outside of a Waffle House restaurant. Deputy Whitfield was shot once in the eye and another deputy was wounded in the shoulder as suspects fled the scene in their car. Both 19-year-old suspects were captured later the same day.
