Description: Officer Wells and his partner responded to a complaint regarding drug activity at an abandoned apartment building. Because the building was dark and abandoned, the suspects were able to hide behind a door and ambush the officers. While searching the building, Officer Wells was shot twice with an AK-47 assault rifle. The assault bullet penetrated his vest causing serious injuries. The suspect was charged with first-degree murder.
