Description: Chief Wolfe was fatally wounded in an automobile accident while transporting a prisoner from Florida to Virginia. Chief Wolfe and Deputy Verlander picked up the prisoner in Florida and were involved in an automobile accident in Georgia. Chief Wolfe suffered severe head injuries and died six days later in a Georgia hospital. Deputy Verlander and the prisoner received non-life-threatening injuries.
