Description: Police Officer Wolfe and Officer Clarence Drehsen were patrolling on Poppleton Avenue when they observed a vehicle involved in an armed robbery and gave pursuit. The suspects crashed their car and the officers approached the vehicle with weapons drawn. One of the suspects exited the vehicle and began firing; Officer Wolfe was in the chest and Officer Drehsen was wounded in the leg. Both officers were transported to a local hospital where Officer Wolfe died one hour after arrival. Officer Drehsen recovered from his injuries.
