Description: Deputy Wilson was shot by a mentally deranged gunman, who would later kill two other officers, Moniteau County Deputy Leslie Roark and Cooper County Sheriff Charles Smith. The gunman also killed Mrs. Pam Jones, the wife of the Sheriff of Moniteau County, Kenny Jones. Moniteau County Deputy Russell Borts was injured. The suspect was sentenced to death and died by lethal injection on January 8, 2002.
