Description: Officer Wood was shot several times while seated in his patrol car. Several calls were placed to the Maywood Police Station reporting shots fired in a local community where Officer Wood patrolled. When fellow officers arrived, they found Officer Wood slumped over the steering wheel with three gunshot wounds to the head and one through the arm. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
