Description: Deputy Wolfe was fatally wounded when he and Deputy Earl Davis responded to a call regarding a deaf-mute man who was firing shots at his neighbors. As the deputies approached to residence to communicate with the suspect, he fired a rifle which struck Deputy Wolfe in the chest. The suspect was also fatally wounded in an exchange of gunfire. Deputy Wolfe died of his injuries two weeks later.
