Description: In the summer of 1842, Sheriff Thomas Wooldridge was shot and killed by Zachariah Dillon in an act of revenge. Mr. Dillion was upset with Sheriff Wooldridge because of a prior arrest charge. While Sheriff Wooldridge walked down the street, Mr. Dillion shot him from an upstairs window. Dillon was sentenced for two years in the state prison, but was pardoned by a new Judge who was also his personal friend.
