Description: Assistant Warden Willis was shot and killed while off duty by a suspect who had been incarcerated in the prison in which Warden Willis worked. The suspect saw Assistant Warden Willis leaving a bar, walked up to him and shot him. The suspect was twice found guilty of murder and sentenced to death. In 1999 he had the sentence overturned by the Illinois Supreme Court and was released.
