Description: Marshal Wise and several other deputies assisted in the arrest of a suspect wanted for murder in Mississippi. Sheriff P.E. Mathews asked Marshal Wise to assist him in the capture of two men who were hiding out in the Mississippi area. While carrying out the assignment to arrest the suspects, Marshal Wise was ambushed, shot and killed by the suspects. His body was found buried in a shallow grave.
