Description: Patrolman Wade was ambushed and shot by a fellow officer who lured him under false pretenses. The officer called headquarters and requested that Patrolman Wade be dispatched to assist him regarding an ongoing robbery investigation. Patrolman Wade arrived at the location where he was confronted by the officer. The officer was convinced that Patrolman Wade was involved with his wife (he wasn't) and fatally shot him in the abdomen. The officer was charged with first degree murder but was judged not guilty due to mental insanity and committed to the state hospital for the criminally insane.
