Description: Deputy U.S. Marshal Whiteley was shot while he and his posse attempted to arrest a known gang of moonshiners in Georgia. The suspects were barricaded inside a residence and a gunfight ensued between them and the posse. Deputy Whiteley was fatally shot and a second deputy was wounded.
