Description: Deputy Weaver was playing poker with two men at the Delta saloon when the two individuals began fighting. As Deputy Weaver attempted to stop the fight, one of the men said to Deputy Weaver, "You are an officer, I believe," to which Deputy Weaver affirmed. The man jumped on a billiard table swearing that "no damned officer" would arrest him, drew his weapon and shot Deputy Weaver. Deputy Weaver returned fire, killing his attacker. Deputy Weaver succumbed to his injuries three days later.
