Description: Constable Wilmoth and Deputy Whitten were investigating a reported juvenile runaway. The juvenile had moved in with an individual who had previous problems with the sheriff's department. The man told the deputies to leave his property or he would shoot them. When the deputies ask for the return of the runaway, the man shot and killed Constable Wilmoth and Deputy Whitten. The suspect received ninety-nine years for the death of each deputy.
