Description: Deputy Marshal Wade was shot and killed while attempting to arrest a moonshiner near Roanoke, Virginia. Marshal Wade was shot in the abdomen with a shot gun and succumbed to his wounds while on a train ride to Rocky Mount for surgical treatment. The suspect escaped from the scene of the crime.
