Description: Marshal York and two deputies went by request of the railroad brakeman to investigate two suspects who had threatened him with pistols. When Marshal York arrived he saw two men who fit the description fleeing on foot and pursued them. Marshal York was shot in the chest as he attempted to catch the two suspects. The suspects were caught and arrested. Marshal York died at the scene.
