Description: Police Officer Young died in an automobile crash while en route back to the station from an assigned short call. Officer Wilbur Scearce was driving the patrol car when it collided with a truck at an intersection. Officer Young was transported to the hospital where he died of head injuries. Officer Scearce survived. The driver of the truck was charged with negligent homicide.
