Description: In April, 1921, Town Sergeant Yost was severely beaten by two men whom he had placed under arrest. Sergeant Yost was escorting the two men to the county jail when they overpowered him and beat him with slats taken from a wooden fence. Sergeant Yost died on July 2, 1921, of a brain injury. The two men were convicted of contributing to his death.
