Description: Constable York was called at home to investigate an accident near his home in Frentress County. While en route to the accident Constable York picked a local citizen who was to take him to the accident scene. While en rout to the accident scene, for unknown reasons, Constable York stopped the police car on the side of the road. As a result Constable York was shot fatally in the head and the citizen was shot fatally in the chest and arm. Both men died at the scene.
