Description: Sheriff Young was shot and killed during a gun battle with two suspects. A posse of approximately 2,000 city & county officers, and State troopers took part in this gun battle. Sheriff Young was while attempting to arrest the man in the house who had more than 200 guns in his home for threatening a neighbor with one of his guns. Sheriff Young received one fatal shot to the chest and died at the scene. Five other officers were wounded in this incident. The suspects, a man and woman were burned to death when their home was set on fire by one of the sheriff's deputies.
