Description: Police Officer Zolendziewski succumbed to injuries sustained in a single-vehicle crash six weeks earlier while on duty. On December 28, 2009, Officer Zolendziewski was instructed by his supervisor to go home to change into his full dress uniform to serve at a funeral. Officer Zolendziewski was on his way home in his personal vehicle when he lost control due to icy roads and crashed into a tree. Officer Zolendziewski was transported to the hospital where he was treated in the intensive care unit until he was transferred to a rehabilitation hospital on February 4, 2010. Officer Zolendziewski died of his injuries on February 11, 2010.
