Description: Detective Zicarelli was shot when he and two other officers were approached by three suspects in a hotel parking lot as they exited their vehicle near La Guardia Airport, in Queens. The suspects attempted to rob them and the officers identified themselves as police officers. One of the suspects opened fire, killing Detective Zicarelli. The suspects then stole the officer's vehicle and fled. Three suspects were arrested.
