Description: On September 2, 2010, CBP Officer Zykas suffered a fatal heart attack while participating in a departmental training course that involved strenuous baton training at the Otay Mesa Port of Entry in California. Officer Zykas was transported to a local hospital where he underwent major surgery. Officer Zykas remained hospitalized until his death six days later.
