Description: Officer Ziska was hailed as a hero in the Cleveland Clinic fire but suffered exposure to harmful chemical gas. Officer Ziska repeatedly entered the building and assisted many people to safety. As a result, Officer Ziska inhaled large quantities of poisonous gases that were emitting from the burning building. Officer Ziska was in continuous ill health after that incident but continued to work. According to the death certificate, Officer Ziska died of heart disease as a result of exposure to the harmful fumes.
